Song Young, Dumb & Broke playing:

So you’re still thinking of me

Just like I know you should

I can not give you everything, you know I wish I could

I’m so high at the moment

I’m so caught up in this

Yeah, we’re just young, dumb and broke

But we still got love to give

[Chorus]

While we’re young dumb

Young, young dumb and broke

Young dumb

Young, young dumb and broke

Young dumb

Young dumb

Young, young dumb and broke

Young dumb broke high school kids

Yadadadadadadada

Yadadadadadada

Yadadadadadadada

Young dumb broke high school kids

Todd : Alex pause.

(song Young, Dumb & Broke by Khalid stopped playing)

Alright! So you may be wondering why I am playing that song,  well that’s one of the songs that right now is just stuck on my head.  You know I get one of those songs and it just plays over and over all day long. Well that song is stuck on my head, and combining that with video that I watched by Gary Vaynerchuk, it really gave me an idea for this video and that, that song may sound a negative song, “Young, Dumb and Broke, but if you really think about it, if you are young, dumb and broke, actually have a lot of opportunities that other people do not as we get older or maybe we lose as we get older, so let’s break it down.

Young, means you have a lot more time typically than someone who’s older. You have a lot more time, usually more energy and you can get out there and start building a business, become an entrepreneur if that’s what you want to do.

The Dumb part, the dump sounds like it could be a negative thing but, in reality, as we age, we build up walls. We build walls around ourselves and we think that is our limits. And we’re told as we grow up, so we go to school that, stay within the lines, draw within the lines, obey the rules, stay in line, sit down, don’t do anything wrong, do what you’re told, those kind of things. And that mentality as we get older really can getting drained and if you want to do  a 9 to 5, if you want to do a job, that’s probably a good thing. But, if you want to be an entrepreneur, you have to throw that out, you have to draw outside the lines, not in illegal way, but in a way that you break down boundaries of what people thought were the limits of whatever it may be that you’re trying to do. And just really go your own path, make your own path. And when you’re young and dumb, you can do that, you have more opportunities to do that you don’t have those barriers to build out.

And then the broke part of it well, you don’t have anything to lose. You don’t have no place to go but up. When you are a little bit older, maybe you have a job, you’re making decent money, now you have that lifestyle that you built to lose. And that makes it more of a risk to become an entrepreneur and it makes it more difficult. Some people want to stay comfortable, they want to stay where they’re at,  they don’t want to risk losing that and that can deter you from being an entrepreneur. And really taking the risk that it needs to take.

So, yeah I just wanted to throw that out there, “Young, Dumb and Broke. Awesome song! Love it! It’s stuck in my head. But also I think a positive message if you really think about it when it comes to being an entrepreneur.

So, just keep that in mind, if you’re young and you want to be an entrepreneur you can do it, don’t let anybody stop you, break down those barriers, think outside the box and don’t let not having money hold you back. You can do it with money or without money, it doesn’t really matter.
